Watzmann – east wall
2100 m from the shore of the Königsee to the south summit!
In addition to having a feel for the right route, a person who climbs the Watzmann east face is particularly required to be able to divide up their forces correctly. From grassy terrain to rocky crags to climbing spots in vertical rock, everything can be found.
Requirements:
- Very good condition for 400 vertical meters / hour.
- Surefootedness, a head for heights and rock experience max. II-III
1 day.
Meeting point in the afternoon at the parking lot at Königsee. By ship to St.Bartholomä. Overnight in the O-wall camp
2 day.
Start early in the morning towards the Eiskapelle and over the Berchdesgadener Weg (II-III) to the Watzmann (2712m). Crossing to the Hocheck (2650m). The descent takes place via Watzmannhaus back to Königsee or descent to Wimbachgrieß directly from the summit.
Walking time approx. 11-13 hours
