Great Wiesbachhorn 3,570 m
Dominant firndome and one of the most beautiful Eastern Alps mountains.
Rival of the Grossglockner, completely free-standing. Main summit of the Fuscher – Kapruner Kamm. Deepest fall to the east and southeast against Ferleiten. At 2,418 meters, the greatest difference in altitude between valley and summit in the Eastern Alps.
Kaindlgrat normal route
Requirements:
- Good condition for 350 vertical meters / hour,
- Surefootedness, a head for heights and some rock experience.
1 day:
Meeting point at the Kesselwandhaus car park near Kaprun. Joint ascent by bus to Moserboden 2100m. From there, walk along the marked trail to the Heinrich-Schwaigerhaus 2802m.

2 day:
Early in the morning we start our tour towards the summit. Behind the hut we climb a steep gully (“Klamml”, a simple via ferrata). Continue over the Forchezkopf and Kaindlgrat to the summit at 3570m. Descent on the same path to Moserboden and on by bus to the cars.
